Betway will be granted branding at the courts of all Fed Cup and Davis Cup ties. The ITF said that engaging fans’ attention and offering them enjoyment during the Fed Cup and Davis Cup would be central to the new partnership. The Federation also pointed out that all provisions of the agreement are fully compliant with the so-called Tennis Anti-Corruption Programme.
Commenting on the latest announcement, David Haggerty, President of the ITF, said that they are happy to welcome Betway to their existing sponsors. The executive further noted that the Federation considers it of the utmost importance to work with partners that are able to “elevate” fans’ experience and enjoyment of the Fed Cup and the Davis Cup. According to Mr. Haggerty, Betway would most definitely be one such partner.
The executive said that as a well-respected and internationally recognized gambling brand, Betway absolutely shares ITF’s mission “to keep the sport of tennis clean” and to “continue strengthening […] flagship events.”
Betway Marketing and Operations Director Anthony Werkman said that both Fed Cup and Davis Cup are a perfect match to the operator’s roster of exiting partnerships. He further commented that they are looking forward to the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final in Belgium, which is slated to take place this weekend, as the country is a key market for the gambling company. Betway launched its operations in Belgium not long ago.
This latest sponsorship agreement came soon after Adecco had its contract with Fed Cup and Davis Cup renewed. Earlier this year, international sponsor Rolex also renewed its agreement with Davis Cup.
Betway is a betting and gambling operator with offices in Malta and Guernsey. The company has operating licenses in the United Kingdom, Italy, Malta, Belgium, Germany, and a number of other European countries. Currently, Betway is the main shirt sponsor of West Ham United.
No financial details regarding the gambling operator’s sponsorship agreement with Fed Cup and Davis Cup have been disclosed.
